CAREER PATHWAY - ELECTRICIAN

SKILLS TAUGHT IN ITI

  • Installing and commissioning of electrical wiring and obtaining service connection
  • To check, dismantle, repair, overhaul, assemble, install and maintain electrical appliances and machinery
  • Install electrical posts, high tension and low tension line conductors supply system
  • Install as per drawing
  • Lifting, hoisting and placing heavy electrical equipment as required
  • Erection and commission of bus bar, panel board, fuse box and switch gear
  • Rewind electric motors
  • Check for continuity, resistance, circuit shorting, leakage, and earthing etc. Make electrical connections in wires and cables
  • Do simple cable joints and solder as specified
  • Use gauges and meters to ensure proper functioning of electro-mechanical components such as circuit breakers, relays and electronic gadgets
  • Refer drawing and wiring diagrams to check electro-mechanical components
  • Locate faults in case of breakdown and replace blown out fuses, burnt coils, switches and cables etc

This course is more suited for those candidates who are interested in repairing, installing, maintaining, and operating electrical equipment. ITI electrician course prepares the students to work on a variety of electrical equipment and do different types of electrical wiring.
